AutoSSL is a feature in cPanel that automatically installs free SSL certificates for domains hosted on your server. This ensures that your website is secured with HTTPS without the need for manual certificate installation.
Steps to Install AutoSSL Certificate in cPanel
Step 1: Log in to cPanel
- Open your web browser and go to your cPanel login page.
- Enter your username and password, then click Log In.
Step 2: Search For SSL/TLS Status
- In the Security section, find and click on SSL/TLS Status.
- You will see a list of domains and their SSL status.
Step 3: Enable AutoSSL for Your Domain
- Select the domain(s) for which you want to install an SSL certificate.
- Click the Run AutoSSL button.
- cPanel will start the process of checking and installing the SSL certificate for the selected domains.
Step 4: Verify SSL Installation
- Once the process is complete, check if the status shows a green lock or AutoSSL Domain Validated message.
- Open your website in a browser using https://yourdomain.com to verify if the SSL certificate is working correctly.
Step 5: Force HTTPS (Optional)
To ensure all traffic is redirected to HTTPS:
- Go to Domains in cPanel.
- Find your domain and enable the Force HTTPS Redirect option.
Your website is now secured with an AutoSSL certificate. If you face any issues, you may need to check your DNS settings or contact your hosting provider for support.
